Style 1: Conversational “next door”

It sounds like a friend who actually uses the product and is just chatting you up. Casual, warm, and simple. This style works because buyers trust what feels familiar and relaxed. It’s awesome for streaming, social, TV, really any spot where you want viewers to nod along instead of tune out. This style has been dominating for a few years now.

Why it sells Relatability builds trust, and trust drives sales. It’s why we always look at reviews from our peers before making a purchase.

Style 2: Confident guide

Clear, steady, reassuring. Not hype. This style helps brands that want authority without sounding stiff. It’s perfect for financial, healthcare, and any product with a learning curve or industries people may be anxious about.

Why it sells Confidence lowers risk, we always want to work with someone who shows that.

Style 3: TikTok influencer

Off the cuff and a little chaotic but in a fun and good way! It feels like someone talking to the front camera while they’re doing something else. You’ve seen the videos, I’m sure! Lots of hand talk, quick asides, little throwaway lines. Think “getting ready,” makeup routine, walking down the street, or unboxing while chatting.

Why it sells It doesn’t feel like an ad. The vibe is personal and in motion, which keeps attention on mobile and makes the ad feel like a friendly suggestion.

Style 4: Dry comedy

Deadpan, light irony, a wink without trying too hard. Timing is everything and it’s not something that’s easy to master! When the writing’s clever, this style can be super memorable.

Why it sells Humor makes brands likable, and likable brands get shared and remembered.

Style 5: Premium luxury

Smooth, minimal, deliberate. Very paced out. Space to breathe. Ideal for automotive, lifestyle, travel, and high end products.

Why it sells Slower pacing and restraint signal quality and justify higher price points. It makes us want to listen. The right voice can really keep us hanging on the words.

Style 6: Empowered

Centered, self assured, and unapologetic. It owns the message without yelling. Think smart conviction but with a smile! This tone stood out during the most recent Super Bowl, where spots leaned into identity, pride, and owning your space.

Why it sells Confidence + authenticity = momentum. Buyers feel seen and want to join the moment. They too, want to feel empowered.

Style 7: UGC style real talk

Intentional “imperfect” read. Natural breaths, tiny little toss away lines, feels like a quick voice note. Great for social first creative.

Why it sells Authenticity. When it doesn’t feel like an ad, people give it a chance and they want to hear more.

Style 8: Podcast host

Relaxed authority, story driven, built for long form audio and midrolls. Smooth transitions, strong intros and handoffs. Honestly feels like it’s in the middle of a show or episode and not taking you out of the moment.

Why it sells Listeners already trust the format. It’s super off the cuff and not flashy at all. When it’s done well, the transition between ad and show feel seamless.

Style 9: Nostalgic

Warm, familiar cadence. Think classic phrasing and a little space around the lines. It isn’t the old “announcer” sound. It’s got a modern nod to it. This one’s coming back as trends swing toward comfort and throwbacks.

Why it sells Nostalgia taps memory and emotion. When people feel connected to a simpler time, they’re more open to your message. I, for one, have really been longing for the 90s and early 2000s when times, for me, were simpler and worth cherishing.

How to pick the right style for your brand

Regardless of your tone, keep it simple. Match the delivery to the buyer’s headspace and the platform where they’ll hear it.
